What you will need for this session: Bible.Journal.Pen.Paper
Yesterday we talked about the ways God’s love flows forth to those around us. Take a moment to write down ways you’ve expressed love in each of the four areas we discussed yesterday (think of the fountain image--personal experiences of God's love, friends and family, community, and love for the world). Which area is the most difficult for you to experience or extend love toward others?
In John 10:10 Jesus said, “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” Jesus desires for us to have a life that is rich and abundant with joy—this doesn't mean that we won’t have tough times, but when those times come God will walk with us. This abundant life that Jesus desires us to have is something that we are to share—we are called to put our faith in Christ into action. Do something!
Open your journal and make two columns. Write down everything you plan to do this week—everything—in one column. In the other column write down who you are doing those things for—your self, others, family, friends, etc. Think about how you could do all of those things in a way that shows God’s love for others.
Read Matt. 22:36-40. Write your reflections down in your journal. Conclude your time in prayer.
